What are the Benefits of Expeller Pressed Oils?

Expeller pressed oils are oil that has been extracted from nuts, seeds, grain and other natural sources by expeller pressing.  This simply means that they have been squeezed by an expeller machine until all the oil has been pressed from the source.

Expeller pressed oils are usually expensive, probably due to the fact that nuts and seeds only yield 66% oil when they are 100% natural.  Expeller pressed oil manufacturers usually opt to leave their products chemically untreated and have lower yield as opposed to dousing them in chemicals which may leave residues in the oil.

This is one of the benefits of using expeller pressed oils, it is usually 100% natural.  No chemicals, no additives and preservatives, just 100% pure oil.  Another wonderful benefit is that because they are less volatile, they evaporate less, so a little expeller oil goes a long way.

Expeller pressed coconut oil for example has less triglycerides than other common vegetable oil.  This means that there is less saturated cholesterol therefore reducing the risk of heart disease in those who use expeller pressed coconut oil.
